Artesnet - Strand 1 - Creative Partnerships

Strand 1 Creative Partnerships maps existing and builds new creative partnerships between arts institutions and the creative industries/cultural sector.

The working package:
1. Mapping, analysing & building creative partnerships
2. Exchange of effective practices & development of evaluation criteria
3. Support of development of sub networks and feeding Teachers Academy 2009

Strand 1 works with a wide definition of creative partnerships and will approach the phenomenon from 3 different perspectives, while at the same time keeping a focus on some central issues.

The three perspectives are:
1. the (inter)cultural/social perspective of creative partnerships: the impact on (groups in) the community/society
2. the industrial perspective: the innovative impact as a result of partnerships and their economical value
3. the educational perspective: the impact on school programmes, didactic models, learning & teaching styles in the art schools; evaluation criteria.

The inventories of the three perspectives of creative partnerships which we collected until now.
1. Intercultural perspective of creative partnerships:

2. Florence: Industrial perspective
The critical examples presented at this meeting show how the boundaries between education, research and enterprise get blurred, how the already interdisciplinary work in the art schools seems to bleed into other new areas of knowledge, and how the economical impact of creative partnerships cannot be looked at without looking at social, cultural and educational implications, for the school and its context.
